At Washington Hematology-Oncology, we believe that patient education is a key component in patient care.  The more a patient and their family know about the patient’s diagnosis, the more able they are to participate in treatment decisions.  

We welcome questions and encourage patients to seek a second opinion if they desire one.  There is no more emotional time than hearing a diagnosis of cancer.  Patients deserve to be treated with respect, having any and all questions answered to their satisfaction.  No question or concern is “too small”.

Making decisions about cancer treatment can be a challenging and frightening time. We support patients in the treatment decision-making process, genuinely caring about the well being of our patients and their families.

Our doctors believe that Clinical Trials are an important option for patients for whom they are appropriate. Clinical Trials enable patients to participate in cutting edge research and possibly to benefit from the newest forms of cancer treatment.  We partner with several teaching universities to provide those patients with trials available on a national level.
